KASILOF RIVER KING SALMON FISHING

Hope everyone had a great and safe 4th of July holiday! We were out on the river enjoying the sun and some kasilof river king salmon fishing. kasilof river Fishing was good with some bigger fish showing up. The fish of the day was a big Kasilof river king salmon.

Often in July we see fish in the 50 pound range caught on the kasilof river. We pride ourselves on staying up to date with what’s going on and the tactics that are producing fish on the Kasilof and kenai rivers. Kasilof river king salmon

Guided Kasilof river King Salmon fishing can pay off at the end of the day. We take care of everything and will work very hard to put you on fish. Today proved to be a little tougher on the river but persistence payed off! The goal was to get a couple of Kasilof River King Salmon and on the last couple drifts we got them back to back.

This is Kristi’s first King salmon! It is a smaller fish but none to less she was happy to have caught it. First run King salmon will very in size from 10-30 pounds.

Good job girls, Mission accomplished! I have fished all day before and in the last few minutes of the trip seen everyone catch a fish like we did today. I know it is Alaska but it is still fishing and patients payed off for this group today. Plugs seem to be working very well in tidal water right now. Bristol Bay float trip

The fishing on the Bristol Bay float trip for 6 days was great! Everyone returned to Anchorage with a few sore. Dry flies, Mouse patterns, and streamers all produced Arctic Grayling, arctic char and Rainbow trout. Here is a picture of one of the guys with a trophy sized Grayling taken on day 2 of the float.

Look for many more photos of this trip to come in the future. I love to put together special trips like this one for groups that are willing to take on the adventure. Remote Bristol bay float trips take some planning so if this sounds like something that interests you make sure that we start planning it early in the year. Alaska Fly Out rainbow Trout Fishing

Alaska fly out rainbow trout fishing trips are really something to look forward to. I leave tomorrow on a 7 day adventure in Bristol Bay for trophy rainbow trout and king salmon fishing. This is a personally designed trip for the HARD CORE, adventurous fisherman that wants to get the most out of there experience. We will be in state of the art tents, comfortable 18 ft. rafts and eating like kings. On this adventure we will be floating 72 miles of river, starting in the high country and ending up in dense, forested country near where the Nushagak River starts. From the wildlife to the fish that haven’t seen a fly in a year or more, we expect to do very well on this trip. Grayling, rainbow trout, Dolly Varden, chum salmon, king salmon, and northern pike are all expected to be seen on this trip. There is lots of planning involved in a trip like this so if you are interested in putting a back country trip of a lifetime together in the bush of Alaska make your plans with our guide service early. We will only fish up to 6 people on two rafts on our back country trips to ensure a personal trip that you are never going to forget. Guided Kasilof River King Salmon Fishing

Guided Kasilof river King Salmon fishing has been good. Lots of take downs, a few fish coming unbuttoned and plenty of fish landed. Water levels are in very good shape and it’s looking to be a great year for King Salmon fishing on the Kasilof River. King salmon fishing is also picking up on the Kenai river too. I have mostly fished the Kasilof river this week but have a few trips are booked for on the Kenai river coming up soon.

Here is one of the fish we boated on yesterdays adventure with our guide service. These bright King Salmon are hard hitting and make screaming runs. Most of the fish caught in the last few weeks have had sea lice on them. This is a good sign of fresh fish in the river. Remember King Salmon season ends at the end of July so it is not to late to get your spot on our boat. Kasilof River Salmon Fishing Guide

Today’s report from your Kasilof river salmon fishing guide. Every day has shown improvement and more and more fish are hitting the river. I believe that this coming week will be the best of the first run of King Salmon. We’ll just have to be out there and see what happens. Bait is still producing more fish that plugs for my boat. With the water level coming up more and more everyday I’ve switched to a larger set of hooks and am now running a longer leader for my eggs and spin and glows. Larger fish are starting to come into the river, we had one get off the hook today that may have reached 40-45 pounds?

The weather has been awesome, 65-80 degrees on the river this week thus far and not a cloud in the sky! We hope it continues? Guided Kasilof river King Salmon fishing has been very good this week. Though we are having to work hard for the fish that we do catch.

These chrome Kasilof river king salmon where caught on the incoming time on both plugs and spin and glows with cured salmon roe. Tides heavily influence our start times in the morning. Kasilof river king salmon fishing

kasilof river King Salmon Fishing has really picked up. In early June the river is still low and fish are concentrated in different holes in the river.

Landing a Kasilof river King Salmon sometimes requires getting out of the drift boat. We will do our best to put you in a position to get your catch into the net.

Tagging your license is the first thing you have to do once you decide to harvest a king salmon. In June, when kasilof river king salmon fishing you are allowed to harvest two king salmon a day. One of which has to be a hatchery fish or both can be hatchery fish.

You have to love the long sunny days in June and why not be on a productive king salmon river while you enjoy them. An 18 inch leader with spin and glows have been working best for my boat. 1st run King Salmon on the kasilof are often between 15 and 30 pounds. Plugs are producing fish also. Kenai peninsula fly fishing trip

When on a Kenai peninsula fly fishing trip on small rivers for King Salmon make sure that you try to spend most of your time in a run that will concentrate fish. These fish are moving upstream with the tide so moving around the stream can just waste time. Getting out there ahead of high tide and hang out until the outgoing, this can be the most productive time. Good runs are popular during the peak of the season so staking out your sweet spot in advance is very important.

The Anchor river can be a very productive fishery but for those early season king salmon you may have to put your time in. Be patient and maybe you’ll pick up a mid May fish on the Kenai Peninsula! I have seen days where we get a good push of fish that each angler hooks multiple fish. Once you have decided to harvest a fish you must quit fishing.
