What are you waiting for?
FISH ON!!! It’s the beginning of June and dates are filling in quickly! What are you waiting for?!? Now’s the time to get that coveted date to catch an awesome salmon or trout! Do you have a special occasion to celebrate? Birthday, Father’s Day, Anniversary (oh la la!), or just to get outdoors? We can promise you’ll have a great time with tons of laughs, lots of memories, and hopefully lots of pictures to prove how “big” that fish that you caught (or the one that got away) really was!

This past Memorial Day weekend, as we honored our fallen soldiers, we had the privilege of fishing on the Kenai Peninsula with some local military guys and boy did they have a blast! So many King salmon take-downs on the Kasilof River and one that got away right at the boat! Nothing can replace the instant thrill and heart-pounding action that takes place when the fishing rod bends in half! Serene peace and quiet to epic chaos…..reel, reel, reel! What a day……!
Don’t hesitate to give us a call while there are still available dates!

Its May already and time to gear up
Its May already and time to gear up and head-out on the Kenai River and Kasilof River down in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula in Soldotna, Alaska! Drifting On The Fly is ready to take you out on the stunning and pristine waters that flow turquoise in color to have your fly rod or spin rod bend in half with anticipation of hooking the elusive Chinook salmon or better know as King Salmon! These big boys are some the most fun and hard fighting salmon you will hook! Your guide will tell you exactly what to do in order to give you the best chance at landing these big behemoths!
Maybe your interest are with a species more popular to shoreline fishing…sockeye salmon, or better known as red salmon. Finding a school of these fish and limiting out is just as thrilling! They are a delicious slamon that many Alaskans love! You’ll catch them in a silver color phase, but later on in the season, you’ll see them with bright red bodies with olive green heads…and teeth sharp like a shark!

The King Salmon and sockeye salmon fishing season have a narrow window of time, so if these are species you’ve been wanting to try your hand at, give us a call! Dates are limited and filling up quickly! You can speak with the owner and head guide Scott Sager, to discuss your fishing plans! Drifting On The Fly can set up one day guided fishing trips, multi-day guided fishing trips, fly-out fihing excursions, ocean charters (including halibut fishing), as well as assist in finding lodging.
We hope you’ll join us this season when everyone is screaming “FISH ON!”. Give us a call and you wont be disappointed!
