Fall Rainbow trout fishing on the kenai river has been very good this fall. Friends and clients are all getting into big fish and lots of them. Follow the sockeye salmon and you will be sure to find a concentration of quality rainbow trout. Flesh flies are starting to really produce some good fish as well. The fishing season is coming to an end fast but there is still time to get out on the river with us one more time. We offer a quality guided fishing operation and would love to show you what we know about this area.

This picture is of Kim Sager with a 30 inch rainbow trout caught in the kenai river canyon this fall. Kim has been fly fishing this area for years and this is the biggest fish she has landed. A monster Kenai river rainbow isn’t landed on every trip but the odds definitely go up when you fish where they live. If you think that you may like to fish this season call asap to reserve your spot. Only a few more weeks of fishing and limited spots are available!
Thanks for following us and steelhead season is right around the corner! call today to book a guided kenai river rainbow trout or steel head trip

Dolly Varden fishing on the Kenai River is often off the hook in the spring until the middle of september. This beautiful fish was caught in the fall right before the Dolly mVarden spawn. Dolly Varden are in the char family and spawn in the fall.
When you find spawning Sockeye Salmon you’ll be sure to find a Dolly Varden or two behind them. With clearer water look for the shadows under and behind the salmon. They can be hard to see sometimes but whenever you approach the stream or river make sure you spend a minute looking before walking right up to the water. This fish was caught in the middle of September on the Kenai river and is a very good fish. Large 25 inch or bigger Dolly Varden are caught daily on the kenai river when the bite is going off.
Guided Dolly Varden fishing on the Kenai River is easily booked with Drifting on the Fly. Give us a call or email us here and we will get you hooked up on a fishing trip of a lifetime.

The Kenai river rainbow trout fishing has shown great improvements on the egg bite in the last two weeks. The fish below Skilak on the middle kenai river seem to be keying in on the egg spawn from the king salmon. I’m finding that size 10 mil. egg pattern is working best for me. A dead drift is very important, the kenai river rainbow trout see many anglers these days and get wise to a drift with the least bit of drag in it. keep your casts short and your rod high. The less line on the water is the best to prevent any drag at all. Also, do not count out the Sockeye Salmon, they have been stacking up and are ready to drop any minute in this area.
Guided kenai river rainbow trout fishing is available now. We take booking for drift boat trips, power boat trips, wade fishing trips, and fly out fishing trips. We will work close with you to design a personal and unforgettable fishing trip in Alaska
Thanks for checking us out and I’ll try to post again as soon as the fish key in on another bite.
