Don’t let the cold keep you inside, hosted fishing trips are a great way to get a line wet in the winter.   I’ve fished with these guys for years and they are top notch.  Capt. Mitch fishes out of Key West and knows how to keep you in fishy water.  If this is something you might like to experience get in touch and I’ll get you lined up!  If you happen to be in Key West stop by the Saltwater Angler and ask for Mitch Dugger. He’ll get you caught up with whats happening and is always dialed in on what to use. From the Kenai River in Alaska to the Florida keys and now to south Africa we would be happy to point you to the right guide services!   Scott Sager   www.driftingonthefly.com Scott@driftingonthefly.

Kenai River Rainbow Trout Fishing

copy-of-41.jpg

Kenai river rainbow trout fishing on the Upper river today.  This young man caught one of the largest upper kenai river rainbow trout that I have landed on my boat. Kids should have all the luck! Landing Big upper kenai river rainbow trout on light tackle or fly is a real treat. The current is swift and there are many obstacles that can end a battle with a big fish quickly. So many times a fish like this will out play the most experience fisher person. A long run a couple of jumps and some good luck and this fish fell to the net and got to pose for the camera.  The Kenai river offers good fishing from the start of the system all the way to the end of the system.  Depending on timing and what is happening on the river will determine which section of river we will pursue.  I often fish the upper kenai river in the fall. Guided kenai river rainbow trout fishing trips cost 275.00 per person for walk and wade, drift boat fishing or power boat fishing. Tight Lines, Scott Sager Drifting On The Fly, LLC

Willow Creek Fly Fishing

Willow Creek Alaska Guided Rainbow Trout Grayling and Dolly Varden Fly Fishing with Guide Scott Sager Willow creek fly fishing opportunities are action packed and exciting.  September Rainbow trout fishing is great almost everywhere in Alaska now. Most of the Salmon are at the end of their life cycle and the trout are really keying in on this food source right now.   I fished Willow Creek with the folks from Murray’s fly shop on Tuesday and we had a spectacular time.  The fishing on the many streams off the Parks highway are easily accessible and full of fish.  The rainbow Trout seemed to concentrate at the confluence of the Susitna and Willow Creek in good numbers today.  We caught three species of fish in about 30 minutes.  Grayling, Dolly Varden, and Rainbow trout were our main focus letting the salmon spawn with no harassment of big streamers in there spawning beds. Once a salmon sets up on its spawning bed or also known as a red they will protect this area by taking anything that passes through this area.  Willow creek fly fishing is a lot of fun, mostly wade fishing opportunities and  A great place to check out. Hope to see you on the river!

We can get you lined up on a Willow creek fly fishing trip upon request and will be happy to show you the river.  Just another Alaska fishing opportunity.
